Mama Rachel Ruto Installed as Patron of The Kenya Girl Guides Association

The First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Mama Rachel Ruto, has been installed as the Patron of the Kenya Girl Guides Association.

This happened during the celebration of World Thinking Day 2023, marked at Christ is the Answer Ministries Church in Karen, Nairobi.

The World Thinking Day was set aside to provide a forum for all women and girls to freely express their ideas. 

Every year on February 22nd, the World Organization of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) observes World Thinking Day, which coincides with the birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, founder of the Boy Scout and Girl Guide movements.

The First lady affirmed her commitment to the development of women and girls as agents of change in society. 

She lauded the unique approach by the Kenya Girl Guides Association to leadership development, and empowering girls and young women to develop the skills and confidence needed to make positive changes in their communities.
